Does Fussie Cat® Canned Food For Cats need to be refrigerated after opening?
Yes. Any unused portion needs to be refrigerated in a sealed container. We recommend using the food within four days of opening. You may want to allow the food to sit at room temperature for about thirty minutes or microwave the food for a few seconds (in a microwave-safe dish - not in the can!) prior to feeding, as some cats do not care for cold food.

What is the shelf life of Fussie Cat® Food For Cats?
Fussie Cat® Canned foods has a shelf life of 3 years. This does not mean, however, that a can beyond this shelf life date will automatically be bad.

How do I read the date code on Fussie Cat® Food For Cats?
We currently have Production Date and Expiry Date on our packaging located at bottom of can that reads “PROD. DD/MM/YYYY and EXP. DD/MM/YYYY.” For instance, an Expiry Date code that read 06/03/2010 has an Expiry date of March 6, 2010.

What is the proper way to store Fussie Cat® Food For Cats?
We recommend storing all of our Fussie Cat® Food For Cats products in a cool dry place, not subject to extreme hot or cold temperatures.

What is the proper way to store Fussie Cat® Litter?
We recommend storing all of our Fussie Cat® Litter away from humidity areas like (washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc.) or near odorous materials (detergent, fertilizer, etc.). If possible, store our dry products in a plastic container (keep the product in the bag with top folded closed for best storage).

Should I feed milk to my kitten?
Milk is a food and not a substitute for water. As a food, milk is incomplete and does not provide a balanced diet. It can be useful as a treat for some cats, however large quantities of milk may not be well tolerated. Milk contains lactose, which requires the enzyme lactase for breakdown in the intestinal tract. If the intestinal tract does not contain sufficient lactase, consumption of a high level of lactose can cause diarrhea in some pets.

Is it okay that my cat is eating my dog's food or vice versa?
Cats and dogs have unique nutritional needs and should be fed a product designed specifically for their needs. Health problems can occur from not feeding a 100% complete and balanced product. Check the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) statement on the product package to determine whether the product is designed for a specific animal's nutritional requirements.

What is the difference between conventional and scoopable litter?
Check the product label to determine whether the product is a conventional or scoop-type product. Conventional products do not always use the word conventional on their label. Check out the differences:

Conventional litter:

  • Package does not always state the word "conventional" on label
  • Will not clump; it will only absorb your cat's urine
  • Has a large granule
  • Maintenance requires you to scoop out your cat's fecal matter and stir the remaining litter in the litter box at least once a day and completely change the litter box weekly
Scooping litter:
  • Package states the word “scoop” on label
  • Will clump to your cat's urine
  • Has a fine granule and less tracking
  • Maintenance requires you to scoop out the urine and fecal matter at least daily and completely change your cat's litter box monthly
All our customers preferred our Fussie Cat® Scoopable and Fussie Cat® Lemon Refresh. Both are scoopable litter and cats just love them.

If I change litter types, should I mix the products together for a while?
Yes, just like when changing to a new pet food. You will need to gradually introduce a new litter product to your pet. Timeframe will vary depending on type of litter so check the package for appropriate directions.
